First aid

Are you meeting your responsibilities to provide immediate attention to colleagues/customers/visitors injured or taken ill in your workplace? Are your colleagues trained to act appropriately in a medical or health related incident/emergency?

First aid

Why it’s important

Legally, housing organisations must have a sufficient number of employees trained in First Aid.

This training sits on the Qualifications Credit Framework (QCF) and attendees will be certificated for three years.

Are you covered across all offices, shifts, sites? Who provides cover when a First Aider is on leave? We can in addition to the provision of training, conduct a First Aid needs assessment and report on steps needed to ensure your association is legally compliant.

Emergency First Aid at Work (QCF)

This one day course provides the skills to act quickly and appropriately in an incident/emergency. Your staff will learn how to:

  • Manage an unresponsive casualty
  • Assist a casualty who is choking
  • Deal with a casualty with broken or dislocated bones
  • Manage a casualty with a minor injury
  • Treat bleeding and shock
  • Administer cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR)
  • Use an automated external defibrillator (AED)
  • Record and report accidents and incidents.

Who it’s for?

EVERYONE! While it’s focussed on using First Aid skills at work, you’ll also be prepared to deal with emergency situations involving family, friends or members of the community.
