This qualification is designed for those learners wishing to gain a nationally recognised qualification in Legionella control.
This qualification covers the effects of Legionella bacteria on the body and the impact an outbreak of Legionnaires’ disease would have on a working site, how to identify and control the risks associated with Legionella bacteria and how legislation and codes of practice can support its control.
It is also designed to enforce the importance of The Responsible Person in respect to ensuring competence of all operatives on the site.
After attending this training delegates will understand:
- The impact of Legionella bacteria and legionellosis
- How legislation and codes of practice can support the management of Legionella bacteria
- How to control the risks associated with Legionella bacteria.
The training will be assessed through completion of a learner workbook and will enable learners to gain a nationally recognised qualification in Legionella control.
Our trainer, Alan Greaves, specialises in providing technical management support and advice to many water treatment companies and end users in compliance to L8, including within the housing sector.
Alan was also directly involved in re-writing the 4th edition of L8 and Guidance Document HSG 274 with the HSE.
Who should attend?
This qualification is aimed at those either in the role of or aspiring to be in the role of Responsible Person relating specifically to control of Legionella on a site.
There are no prerequisites for this qualification, but all delegates must bring photographic identification on the day, to be checked by the assessor.
